			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>What do you get when you get a room full of 400 trainers &amp; fitness enthusiasts, 4 of the worlds top Strength &amp; Conditioning Coaches &amp; a bunch of cool fitness equipment?</p>
<p>You get a whole lotta Awesomeness that&#8217;s what, and that is exactly what Perform Better in New Jersey was all about.</p>
<p>I am just finishing up a amazing day that started at 8 am and after eating a ton of food and foam rolling out some sore hips &amp; legs I figured it would be a good time to recap and share the awesomeness of the Perform Better Seminar in New Jersey.</p>
<p>However before we get to that I had to show you something really cool that.  What&#8217;s the chances of a huge Batman Fan ending up like 5 minutes away from a restaurant called &#8220;Gotham City Diner&#8221;.  Well those chances were pretty damn good.</p>
<p>Gotham City Diner was surreal.  Take a 1950&#8242;s Gotham Feel, add in a Diner, add in one of THE BEST Burgers I have ever had, and you have Gotham City Diner.</p>

<p>Onward.</p>
<p>The Perform Better Seminar was pretty amazing.</p>
<p>It started with 4 hours of lectures from Top Trainers Martin Rooney, Mike Boyle, Gray Cook &amp; Mike Boyle.</p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t know who these guys are you should.</p>
<p>First up at 8am was Martin Rooney.</p>

<p>Martin Rooney&#8217;s presentation was educational &amp; intense.  He went over the facts about &#8220;Metabolic Training&#8221; and the history of Fitness.  Starting back to Kenneth Coopers Aerobics and working up until present day.  Martin always has a way of making you THINK and ANALYZE and question WHY we think the way we do.</p>
<p>Which is why Martin is an amazing Coach &amp; in my opinion a Fitness Philosopher.</p>
<p>For example, let me ask you a question.</p>
<p>What is aerobics?</p>
<p>Give that some SERIOUS thought and leave me a comment below, the real answer may surprise you.</p>
<p>Martin then covered everything that made a intelligent Metabolic Circuit and the benefits of a Metabolic Circuit which are</p>
<p>1. Improved Fat Loss</p>
<p>2. Improved Muscle Gain</p>
<p>3. Improved Cardiac Capacity</p>
<p>This alone will be a future blog post &amp; video series from me.</p>
<p>Martin Rooney, as always, delivered a ton of quality information that will educate you, as well he makes you THINK &amp; Question.  Which is needed in our Fitness Industry.</p>
<p>Next up was Mike Boyle.</p>

<p>It was my first time at a presentation by Mike Boyle and he was even better than I thought he would be.</p>
<p>His combination of blunt truth coupled with humor made for an amazing hour of education and entertainment.  Mike is definatly a very much &#8220;Call it like he see&#8217;s it&#8221; type of guy which I loved.  He even stated that about 10% of people would more than likely hate him after his presentations, which he seemed very ok with.</p>
<p>Mike broke down numerous areas and combined it with Fitness.</p>
<p>- The Learning Process from John Maxwell  (Check the book Self Improvement 101)</p>
<p>- Computer Man (A problem getting worse every day in society)</p>
<p>- The Three Stages Of Truth</p>
<p>- And he also had some positive things to say about Crossfit (not).</p>
<p>Overall Mike&#8217;s presentation was fantastic.</p>
<p>Next up was Gray Cook.</p>

<p>Now I have to admit, I wasn&#8217;t a huge Grey Cook follower before this.  I just couldn&#8217;t get too deep into FMS (Functional Movement Screen), and deep anatomy &amp; Bio-mechanics.</p>
<p>However, after listening and TRAINING under him today I am now a beleiver.  It is my goal to do his FMS in 2012, so keep an eye out for it.</p>
<p>Gray went into detail on Mobility, Motor Control &amp; Movement.</p>
<p>The whole presentation I was leaning forward in my chair, my jaw dropping, and my facial expression saying WHOA.</p>
<p>Gray covered what is Function, What is Dysfunction, and as well he got into the lack of SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) in Fitness &amp; Dysfunction.  Really deep and heavy stuff.  Grey talked like it was grade 3 information for him.  The guy is a genius in this area.</p>
<p>Last up was Todd Durkin.</p>

<p>I have trained under Todd before so I knew what to expect, but he out did himself and delivered an amazing presentation on &#8220;The Core &amp; Cuff&#8221;.</p>
<p>Covering in detail Core &amp; Rotator Cuff training.  I learned a TON from this, and the videos and clips he was showing literally blew my mind.  I have learned so much just from his 1 hour presentation that I can&#8217;t wait to revamp my core training and my posterior upper body training.</p>
<p>He showed us a variety of training clips he has his top NFL &amp; Baseball athletes doing and it was amazing.  It was easy to see why he has coached two Super Bowl Quarterbacks, the guy knows his sh*t!</p>
<p>After the 4 hours of lectures came 4 hours of intense training.</p>
<p>First up was Gray Cook.</p>

<p>Gray divided us into Movement issues &amp; Mobility Issues.</p>

<p>The difference in how much better my back &amp; hips/hamstrings felt in just a few minutes with Grey Cook was AMAZING.</p>
<p>I have a herniated disc in my lower back and some serious hip/hanstring issues that really bother me, he picked up on them fast and made me work like crazy just in stretching and relaxing in a stretch position.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s not every day you get to train with some of the best coaches in the world, and it&#8217;s even better when you get to train and learn from 4 of them.</p>
<p>Next up in training was Todd Durkin and his focus on Core &amp; Cuff.</p>

<p>Todd had us using Resistance Bands, Swiss Balls, TRX Rip Trainer, Kettlebells &amp; Slideboard.</p>
<p>I will be sore in places I never knew I had tomorrow.</p>
<p>Todd showed us a ton of cool exercises hitting our core &amp; cuff done in a fast paced environment.  I learned a ton from this and I can&#8217;t wait to add some of these exercises to my training and for my clients at <a href="http://www.HeavyweightsFitness.com" target="_blank">Heavyweights Training Center.</a></p>

<p>I have trained with Martin at Perform Better in Seattle and as well I am certified under him for his &#8220;<a title="Are YOU A Warrior?" href="http://www.robkingfitness.com/announcements/are-you-a-warrior/">Training For Warriors</a>&#8221; certification so I knew what I was getting with Martin.</p>
<p>Martin never has a B day, it&#8217;s always an A day when you train with Martin Rooney.</p>
<p>Martin took us through an  intense Metabolic Circuit consisting of Battling Ropes, Kettlebell swings, Agility Ladder &amp; SandBag work.</p>
<p>Doing Metabolic Circuits with Martin Rooney my heart was beating out of my chest, sweat was pouring down my bald head, and the whole time I can hear Martin coaching and motivating us to bring out our best.</p>
<p>Needless to say I loved every minute of it.</p>
<p>As always Martin I thank you.</p>
<p>Last up was Mike Boyle.</p>

<p>Mike took us through a sample workout he does with a lot of his clients.  He incorporates a Push Day, Pull Day, Leg Day &amp; Core day.</p>
<p>He went through Push Ups, Single Leg Squats, Swiss Ball Roll Outs, TRX Row variations, side plank rows, Val Slides &amp; more.</p>
<p>After a nice 4 hour butt kicking it was time to call it a day.</p>
<p>Before I go I head over to the Perform Better booth and dropped a couple of hundred dollars in Fitness Education Books &amp; DVD&#8217;s. I ALWAYS INVEST IN MYSELF and my education.  I NEVER consider money spent on this, I consider it my education.</p>
<p>Along with improving my education I met up with some awesome people along the way.</p>
<p>Valerie Walters (Celebrity Trainer to the Stars &amp; Creator of The Valslide), Jon Goodman (from <a href="http://www.ThePTDC.com " target="_blank">The Personal Trainer Development Center</a>) and 2 other cool dudes Harold Gibbons &amp; Eddie Fantastic.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I just spent the weekend in Shererville Indiana with my good friend and Heavyweights Training Center head trainer Gill Whelan studying under one of the top coaches in the world, Martin Rooney.</p>
<p>Martin Rooney is an internationally recognized pioneer of strength and conditioning for the martial arts. He holds a Master of Health Science and Bachelor of Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from Furman University.</p>
<p>Oh he is also the coach for &#8220;The Gracie&#8217;s&#8221; and was the personal coach to the Prince of Abu Dhabi, hey no big deal <img src='http://www.robkingfitness.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>I decided a few weeks back that it was time to &#8220;Up My Game&#8221; as a trainer &amp; coach.  It is always easy to stay the same and not invest in yourself, however that is not my philosophy and my goal is to ALWAYS improve and ALWAYS learn more and never stand still.</p>
<p>Enter Martin Rooney.</p>
<p>I have been following Martin&#8217;s writing and philosophy for a while now.  I may have been one of the first people to purchase his &#8220;Training For Warriors&#8221; DVD series and book.  I always believe in investing in myself.  My books and training DVD&#8217;s come before me buying clothing, going to see movies and so on.</p>
<p>As well I attended a <a title="Seattle Perform Better Seminar" href="http://robkingfitness.com/cool-experiences/seattle-perform-better-seminar">Perform Better Seminar in Seattle</a> a few months ago and Martin was a presenter. One of my best blog posts ever was written about training under him and how to &#8220;<a title="Be Extraordinary!" href="http://robkingfitness.com/mind-set/be-extraordinary">Be Extraordinary</a>&#8220;.</p>
<p>Without question I signed up, booked our flights, and got everything ready to go (even though I have just opened a new business and I have been working around the clock).</p>
<p><strong>Investing in my education &amp; health comes first above anything materialistic.</strong></p>
<p>Martin has been a huge influence on me so I decided to take the step and do his &#8220;Training For Warriors&#8221; Certification course.</p>
<p>It was BY FAR one of the best investments I could have made in myself for both me and my clients.</p>
<p>I thought I knew about training, I thought I understand the purpose, I thought I understood motivation.</p>
<p>Boy was I wrong.</p>
<p>The whole weekend just reminded me of this quote from <a title="The Day I Met Bruce Lee" href="http://robkingfitness.com/cool-experiences/the-day-i-met-bruce-lee">Bruce Lee</a> (and it was great to talk to Martin about Bruce Lee, that alone was worth the trip&#8221;.</p>
<p>&#8220;Before I studied the art, a punch to me was just like a punch, a kick just like a kick. After I learned the art, a punch was no longer a punch, a kick no longer a kick. Now that I&#8217;ve understood the art, a punch is just like a punch, a kick just like a kick.&#8221; &#8211; Bruce Lee</p>
<p>My level of understanding of why we do things now has changed which brings us to Rooney Rule #1.</p>
<p><strong>Rooney Rule #1 &#8211; We don&#8217;t do something for nothing.</strong></p>
<p>Ever wonder why you do what you in the gym?  Ever wonder why you bench the way you do, why you do things like like presses?  Have you just kinda done them because you saw someone do it, or because you read a program on some fitness magazine.  Have you ever REALLY looked at what you are doing in the gym?  Well Martin Rooney has, and his Training For Warriors System is the brain child of all his years of fitness research, training himself, training others, and always refining his system.</p>
<p>The Training For Warriors Certification went above and beyond what I expected, and I had high hopes going into this.  I learned far more than I expected, I got coached and taken out my comfort zone in more ways than one, and also I have NEVER EVER been so sore from 8 reps of  hip circle and a glute bridges.  You see there is a lot more to a rep than just moving.  This whole weekend we have lifted hardly no weights, and yet my heart rate and screaming muscles can be attributed to one thing, <strong>Martin&#8217;s AMAZING ability as a coach. </strong></p>
<p>Me blogging and writing and telling stories about it can do it no justice, all I can say is you have to attend one of his events, whether a Perform Better Seminar, Training For Warriors Certification or any of his clinics.  I can&#8217;t say enough just how awesome an experience this has been and I am DAMN PROUD To say that I am now</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Friday April 2 I had one of the coolest experiences of my life, it was the day I met Bruce Lee.</p>
<p>I got to pay homage and respect to someone that has greatly influenced my life, and thousands upon thousands of others, maybe even you.</p>
<p>He was a great man, father, husband&#8230;.</p>
<p>A philosopher, poet, teacher, student, martial artist.</p>

<h3>His name was Bruce Lee, and on Friday April 2nd, I got to meet the man that has impacted so many people in such a positive way.</h3>
<p>I wish I could have had a tea with Bruce Lee in a past life or in another time.</p>
<p>Bruce Lee would be one of the top people I wish I could have met,  like Arnold, Krishanumurti, and Layne Staley, (Weird list I know), Bruce Lee ranks up there at the very top of people who have influence my life in a way I could never describe or be grateful enough for.</p>
<p><em><strong>Ever since I was a child I have had this instinctive urge for expansion and growth. To me, the function and duty of a quality human being is the sincere and honest development of one&#8217;s potential. &#8211; Bruce Lee</strong></em></p>
<p>I can still remember seeing his striated sinewy muscle in Enter The Dragon.  That left an impact on me to this day. It was because of Bruce Lee that I entered a weight room, a dojo, and began my own pursuit of fitness &amp; martial arts.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Bruce Lee &#8211; The Martial Artist</strong></span></p>
<p>Bruce Lee was far ahead of his time in so many ways.  In the Martial Arts he was decades ahead of his time, only now is his broad view of combat seen take place in MMA all over the world.  Bruce Lee laid the foundation for the current growth of MMA &amp; UFC.  Bruce was so far ahead of his time that we literally needed almost 30 years before we could catch up to his view of Martial Arts &amp; true combat.</p>
<p>Everywhere now we see MMA competitions, MMA Schools, BJJ guys doing Muay Thai, Muay Thai guys doing boxing, Wrestlers doing BJJ.  No longer are there segmentation’s to the martial arts, now we have the martial arts they way they were MEANT to be, an expression of the human body and finding what works for each of us.<a href="http://robkingfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/lens10890501_1273694719bruce-lee-workout-routine.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-5254" style="margin: 15px;" title="lens10890501_1273694719bruce-lee-workout-routine" src="http://robkingfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/lens10890501_1273694719bruce-lee-workout-routine-209x300.jpg" alt="" width="209" height="300" /></a></p>
<p><em><strong>To me totality is very important in sparring. Many styles claim this totality. They say that they can cope with all types of attacks; that their structures cover all the possible lines and angles, and are capable of retaliation from all angles and lines. If this is true, then how did all the different styles come about? If they are in totality, why do some use only the straight lines, others the round lines, some only kicks, and why do still others who want to be different just flap and flick their hands? To me a system that clings to one small aspect of combat is actually in bondage. &#8211; Bruce Lee</strong></em></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Bruce Lee  &#8211; The Philosopher</strong></span></p>
<p>What most people don’t realize about Bruce Lee was that he was far more than a fighter and an actor, Bruce was first and foremost a Philosopher.</p>
<p>Bruce Lee studied Philosophy and Drama at the University of Seattle before moving into acting and movies.  He was very well educated and self educated and he never stopped learning.</p>

<p>Bruce Lee believed that any knowledge ultimately led to self-knowledge, and said that his chosen method of self-expression was martial arts.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Bruce Lee’s Impact On Me</strong></span></p>
<p>I can’t express enough the impact Bruce Lee had on me growing up and to this day.  I remember watching his movies, the way he moved, his build, his confidence, his mannerisms, I just knew I had to know more about this guy called Bruce Lee.</p>
<p>I bought EVERY book I could on Bruce Lee.  This was before the days of Amazon.com or Google.  At one point I got a job in a bookstore and I was AMAZED at all the books they had on Bruce Lee on microfilm.  I never made any money working at that bookstore, every penny I made went into ordering every book I could find on Bruce Lee and every author or book that Bruce Lee mentioned, I was obsessed, and I was very happy in being obsessed.</p>

<p>Bruce Lee changed the world in more ways than we know.  To my friend Les for taking me to Bruce Lee’s grave, I thank you, it is something I will never forget and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life.</p>

<h1>Seattle Perform Better Seminar</h1>
<p>It&#8217;s my first time in Seattle and I am loving it here so far!</p>
<p>I have Seminar Saturday which I am REALLY excited for on Saturday with some of the top trainers in the WORLD! Martin Rooney, Todd Durkin, Alwyn Cosgrove,Rachel Cosgrove. It should be fantastic and I can&#8217;t wait to give you a full blog review of it all on Sunday.  More on this in a minute.</p>
<p>I got into Seattle yesterday afternoon, let me tell ya that flying from Newfoundland to Seattle is a long ass flight.  Everytime I travel I dread it because the flights are so long, but once I do it I am always grateful.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><span id="more-4332"></span>I am really lucky as I get to see some old friends when I am here.  One of them actually started my business Heavyweights with me WAY back in the day when we were in University.  He went on to a successful carrer, I failed out of university and someone managed to keep Heavyweights going and turn it into a successful awesome business that I am proud of!</p>

<p><span style="font-size: small;">But first let me back up to first meeting Branch.  If you have seen him in the magazines you would swear the guy was a hardcore, intense, angry dude!  Let me tell ya he is the farthest thing from it!</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-size: small;">Branch Warren was totally laid back, easy going guy with no attitude at all.  It was hard to picture coming out of this beast, but the guy was super cool and laid back.</span></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">After dropping him at his hotel for a few hours we went and picked him up and headed down to our Jungle Jims.  Not often you get to hang and shoot the sh*t with Branch Warren!  The one thing I noticed is that man can he eat!  However he kept it clean and never blew his diet that day.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">We dropped Branch off again as we had some “work” stuff to do for the HWC.  <a href="http://robkingfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/BranchWarrenHWC1.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-4241" style="margin: 15px;" title="BranchWarrenHWC" src="http://robkingfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/BranchWarrenHWC1-300x209.jpg" alt="" width="249" height="173" /></a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">After about 2 hours we were meeting with Branch to head for a workout.  I asked him if he needed anything before the gym?  Food, Pre Workout etc?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">His reply?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">“I got a coffee, I’m good”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
Awesome.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Not long after me and my buddies Fraser &amp; Jamie were training “with” Branch Warren!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">More like we were training and WATCHING in Amazement at Branch Warren.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">After his warm up he grapped the 70 lb dumbells, I thought he would be starting his warm up with some dumbell shrugs.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">I was wrong, very wrong.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: small;">By now you could pick  my jaw jaw off the floor.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Branch then kept “uppin the weight”.  70’s, 80’s, 90’s, right up to 100 lb front single arm dumbell raises.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Totally fukin amazing!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Needless to say the rest of the workout we couldn’t do anything but pretty much watch in amazement.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: small;">500 people on their feet screaming and freaking!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Good times were to be had by everyone in attendance that night!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">If you were there you remember it, if you missed it you missed one helluva show!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Later that night Branch came out with a whole bunch of good friends. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Such awesome people as my girlfriend Danielle, Art King, <a href="http://www.warriorbuilt.net" target="_blank">Andy Pratt</a>, <a title="21 Day Muscle Blast - Lee Hayward" href="http://www.21DayMuscleBlast.com" target="_blank">Lee Hayward</a>, <a href="http://www.21dayMassBlast.com" target="_blank">Patricia Crocker</a>, <a href="http://www.TheMuscleCookBook.com" target="_blank">Dave Ruel</a>, Mike Benoit  and many other awesome Heavyweights Customers &amp; Friends!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Branch and all our crew had some shots, shared some drinks and had a killer time.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">5 am comes to fast and Branch had to be at the Airport for 6am,  So we then got Branch home, he had a great timed and said he would love to come back and party again with us soon!</span></p>

<h2>Let me start by saying that going to Gold&#8217;s Gym Venice Beach was one of the coolest experiences of my life!</h2>
<h3>I was in California a few weeks ago on Business and decided to stay an extra day to check out &#8220;The Mecca Of BodyBuilding &#8211; Gold&#8217;s Gym Venice Beach&#8221;.</h3>
<p>WOW What an experience!</p>
<p>It was far beyond what I expected and more!!  I don&#8217;t even know where to begin.</p>
<p>Me and my good friend Andy Pratt got up early on a Monday morning to hit Gold&#8217;s Gym Venice Beach AKA &#8221;The Mecca Of Bodybuilding&#8221;.  It was within walking distance from our hotel.  So we packed our bags, slammed back some Decimate Pre Workout and headed to Golds Gym Venice Beach.</p>
<p>Not being too familiar with Venice Beach area I wondered if we were in the right area. I am now known for being very good with directions or maps so getting lost was a very good possibility <img src='http://www.robkingfitness.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> .  However as we approached the gym (thank you Iphone and Maps) my heart started to beat a little faster.</p>
<p>In the middle of almost nowhere was &#8220;The Mecca Of BodyBuilding &#8211; Golds Gym Venice Beach&#8221;.  Simply amazing!  My heart raced, I was 16 once again reading about the old school pros, Arnold, Franco, Draper, Zane, are just a few names to go through my brain at a mile a minute!  Just walking up was a rush of excitement (and we haven&#8217;t even entered the Gym yet!)</p>

<p>Upon entering the gym I couldnt beleive how packed it was!  We went there on a monday morning thinking it would be at least half empty, boy was i wromg!  The place was packed and filled with insane energy!  I haven&#8217;t focused much on BodyBuilding workouts recently but just being in that gym made me want to &#8220;get my pump on!&#8221;  It wasnt just me feeling this way, my friend andy even said &#8220;Man what a place to train for a show!&#8221;  I couldn&#8217;t agree more!!</p>

<p>So Pratt and I proceeded to hit a nice little upper body pump workout!  At first I was fixated only on the main room filled with numerous pics of all shapes and sizes.  Everywhere you turned you were reminded of the past of BodyBuilding and why Gold&#8217;s Gym Venice Beach IS the Mecca Of BodyBuilding.  It was incredible!</p>
<p>We started our workout and about 2 minutes in noticed the one and only Charles Glass training a client.  Charles is kinda known as &#8220;The Trainer&#8221; when it comes to BodyBuilding.  Mental note, must get picture with Charles Glass!!</p>
<p>Progressing through our workout just hitting a variety of exercises and machines, no structure, no plan, just going around and having a blast!  One thing that surprised me was how huge the gym is!  The place is monsterous and every room was busy and full of energy!  For a monday morning I couldn&#8217;t beleive it.</p>

<p>Does no one work day jobs in Venice Beach?  I Guess Not <img src='http://www.robkingfitness.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />   Just another reason that I love California.</p>
<p>It was the first workout in a LONG TIME that I didn&#8217;t feel rushed or on the clock.  Most workouts I have a deadline, usually 30-40 minutes and I am done, back to working, but today I had NO thoughts of work or anywhere else I would have rather been, I was IN the MOMENT and I was loving it!<a href="http://robkingfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/IMG_3747.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-2077" style="margin: 15px;" title="Charles Glass &amp; Rob King" src="http://robkingfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/IMG_3747-225x300.jpg" alt="" width="225" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>I won&#8217;t go into specifics of our workout, that&#8217;s not important.  What is important is the VIBE &amp; ENERGY of this place, I can&#8217;t describe it here, just amazing.  It made me want to bodybuild again, and I haven&#8217;t wanted to bodybuild in a long long time&#8230;.</p>
<p>Andy and were starting to wind down our awesome workout when i made the decision to hit Charles Glass for that picture.  He was training a client and I hate to bother trainers, but hey, its Charles Glass!</p>
<p>So I approached him that we were 2 HUGE Fan&#8217;s from Newfoundland Canada and asked him for a brief picture (hey the man is workin!), he was totally cool with it and this was one of the highlights of my trip!  If you don&#8217;t know who Charles Glass is I suggest you go google it right now and pay homage to the man!  He is awesome!</p>

<p>So we finished our pump workout, enjoyed the atmosphe of the Gym, took a deep breath and planned our next attack.</p>
<p>POST WORKOUT NUTRTION AT THE FIRE HOUSE!!!! <img src='http://www.robkingfitness.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>If you aren&#8217;t familar with the FireHouse Restaurant Google it.  It is a pillar in the BodyBuilding Community In Vemice Beach.  It&#8217;s and old style FIre Fighting Restaurant which has a nice catering to Body Builders (Check the menu).</p>
<p>I polished off a huge feed consisting of Pancakes, Egg Whites &amp; Orange Juice! Simply Amazing!</p>
<p>Now I know why this place is so popular, it&#8217;s awesome!  This is a MUST if your in Venice Beach.</p>
