Although nuts are high in fat, frequent nut eaters are thinner on average than those who almost never consume nuts. (Data from the Nurses’ Health Study. Those who ate nuts at least two times per week were 31 percent less likely to gain weight than were those who never or seldom ate them in a study involving 8865 adults. 5. Build strong bones and teeth with the phosphorus in almonds.

As we age weak bones are a big contributor to long term health problems, this is even more important for women as they age.
Healthy and strong teeth is an overall health indicator and very important for overall health and wellness.

6. Almonds lower the rise in blood sugar and insulin after meals.

This is important for many reasons.  When you want to burn body fat having a stable blood sugar response is very important.  Once blood sugar spikes you can not burn body fat as efficiently so having a stable and slow blood sugar response to meals is very important for fat loss and health.

7. In addition to healthy fats and vitamin E, a quarter-cup of almonds contains 62 mg of magnesium plus 162 mg of potassium.

Magnesium is Nature’s own calcium channel blocker. When there is enough magnesium around, veins and arteries breathe a sigh of relief and relax, which lessens resistance and improves the flow of blood, oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. Studies show that a deficiency of magnesium is not only associated with heart attack but that immediately following a heart attack, lack of sufficient magnesium promotes free radical injury to the heart.Potassium, an important electrolyte involved in nerve transmission and the contraction of all muscles including the heart, is another mineral that is essential for maintaining normal blood pressure and heart function. Almonds promote your cardiovascular health by providing 162 mg of potassium and only 0.2 mg of sodium, making almonds an especially good choice to in protecting against high blood pressure and atherosclerosis.

8. They alkalize the body.

Almonds are the only nut and one of the few proteins that are alkaline forming.  When your body is not alkaline enough, you risk osteoporosis, poor immune function, low energy and weight gain.

Almonds have numerous health benefits along with benefits for fat loss and building muscle.  They are available everywhere and can be added to any nutrition program for health and fat loss benefits.

Start adding Almonds into your nutrition plan immediately.

Rob’s Note : Almonds are a great source of Magnesium.  Magnesium has huge benefits for health, strength, body composition and your hormones.  A product I use is called EASE Magnesium.  It’s a topical spray and it works wonders.  I also take a oral magnesium supplement.  You can’t have too much magnesium
