I love what we do at Heavy Weights.

Nancy is one of our best transformations yet.

She not only transformed her body, but she also got stronger and competed in Power Lifting.

What is even more impressive is that she is almost 50 years of age.

I truly believe that lifting Heavy Weights, eating healthy and doing what we do at HW changes lives.

Nancy is proof of this.

I reached out to her and asked her to share her story.

What kind of workouts were you doing before?

 None

 

What kind of workouts do you do now?

Powerlifting 4 times a week including

Strong Curves with Danielle and

Personal Training with Jill Nash

 

How was your nutrition like before?

Before joining Heavy Weights, I did not pay much attention to my nutrition. I ate alot of processed foods and didn’t really watch what I was eating.

 

What is your nutrition like now?

 I eat very well, lots of protein, and little to no processed food, however I still like to treat myself occasionally.

 

Looking back now, what are you most proud of?

I am proud of everything I have accomplished since joining Heavy Weights.

I joined several gyms before Heavy Weights and actually hated them all.

I have done several programs with Heavy Weights and really took a passion to powerlifting.

Stepping outside my comfort zone, I have done two competitions and qualified for provincials and nationals. I have both physically and mentally become so much stronger and have met my weight loss goals.

I can now say that I love going to the gym.

What kind of influence the coaches make on your transformation?

The coaches at Heavy Weights go above and beyond.

They’ve supported and helped me reach and surpass all goals I’ve made for myself.

They made me realize that I am capable of much more than I ever thought possible.

What are the keys to your success in transforming your body?

Healthy clean eating and consistent training.


When it comes to your transformation what are you most proud of?

As I approach 50 I feel and look better than I have in my life.

My physical strength still amazes me.

What’s your advice for people struggling with transforming their body?

Come to Heavy Weights. Whatever your goals…..with the help of the amazing coaches, you will reach them. 

 

How was your experience overall with Heavy Weights?

I can’t say enough about this gym, the coaches and the staff. These guys know their stuff. The programs are awesome and the family atmosphere is something I have never seen at another gym. I have made so many friends here and I just love it. This place is addictive!!!!

Take a few moments and tell me about your story and your journey.  Why you started?  The programs you did and the experiences since you started your fitness journey.

Around 3 years ago I began to feel unhappy with how I felt and looked. I was gaining weight and I would come home from work and have a nap almost every day. I saw an add on facebook one day for a 21 day fat loss program. I thought……..I will try this. It’s only for 3 weeks and I will try and lose a few pounds and then I will follow the nutrition plan they give me and never go back. Well after the first class I was shocked!!I loved it and couldn’t wait for the next class.

This had never happened to me before. I joined gyms and programs before and made every excuse not to go. This was different. After the 21 days I lost pounds and inches and had so much fun. I couldn’t just give this up.

After some consultation I decided to do the Strong Her program. I lost more weight and inches and was introduced to powerlifting…….and loved it.

After this program I decided to try something different so I did Bikini Body and continued to lose weight and inches. I enjoyed this program too but there was more conditioning and less lifting than the StongHer program.   I liked powerlifting more so I decided to do StrongHer again.

I began lifting heavier weights and doing things that I never thought possible. By now I was hooked. Then I heard of a new program that was more into powerlifting called Strong Curves. I joined that program and haven’t looked back. I wanted even more so I started PT as well.  Even though I was beyond nervous I wanted to try a powerlifting competition. I did it and loved it!!! Did a second competition recently and I qualified for provincials and nationals.

I am so proud of myself. I love all the coaches at Heavy weights, especially my two, Danielle and Jill. They have taught me so much and continue to push me and believe in me. People often say to me…..all your hard work is evident and I think to myself……this isn’t work – I LOVE IT!! I will never leave Heavy Weights!
