Thank You Mom

Thank You Mom

This could possibly be one of the hardest things I have ever written, but here goes.

Thank you, Mom.

Thank you for everything you taught me.  You taught me about how to really be strong.  It’s because of you that I pass this on to all of my clients: stay strong and to never ever ever give up.

I rarely talk about this in my life, so putting this in an email/blog post and sending it out to 10,000 people is one of the craziest things I have ever done.  Then again, I know how many other people out there need help.

Always no matter how bad your life gets, or how hard things get, however much you don’t think you can keep going, always remember this:

Never, Ever, Ever, Give Up.

Yup, it was worth saying again.  (And again, and again…)  My mom taught me this lesson even before I knew I was being taught it.

You see, as long as I can remember my mom had always been sick.  It’s a big reason I believe that I am so big into health and fitness.  It’s why it makes me so happy to be able to help others the way I do.

She fought cancer numerous times, went through chemotherapy numerous times, had numerous surgeries, had her lung removed from cancer, battled depression and had a whole cascade of health issues her whole life.

This is what I saw growing up and it killed me.  There was nothing I could do.

Seeing my mother fight day-in and day-out to live and keep going, and especially watching her keep going for her FAMILY made an impact on me.  The amazing thing was, this frail tiny woman was stronger than I could ever aspire to be.

Not once did she complain.

Every day she fought, and her fight was a big one; it was to live.  Still, she never whined about it.  Her strength brought the message home.

Never, Ever, Ever, Give Up.

I am very grateful to have someone so strong raise me.  Because of her, I love doing what I do now.  I get to help others to make their life healthier, happier and stronger.

Owning a business and doing what I do is not an easy job.  There have been at least 1000 times that I have wanted to quit.  At least 1000 times when I wanted to give up, when the stress was too much, when the workload was crazy, and when I just didn’t think I could keep going…

At those times, I would always remember my mom’s struggle just to live and to keep FIGHTING.  I would use her strength to find a way and to not give up, EVER.

Never, Ever, Ever, Give Up.

So to my mom I say, Happy Mothers Day!  Thank you for all you taught me.  Thank you for showing me how to NEVER, EVER, EVER, GIVE UP.

Stay Strong.
