3 Supplements To Improve Sleep



As long as I can remember I have always had sleep issues.

When I was in school I would always stay up late at night and have a hard time getting up the next day.  This sleep issue continued into my years of university and then as well after working downtown in the bar scene for a few years the only day light I saw was the sun coming up as I was going home.

Some things never change.

I still have trouble sleeping but I wanted to share with you 3 supplements that I have used that help me sleep, and I used two of them last night and after four days of no sleep last night I slept and I feel much better today.

Here are 3 supplements to help you relax and sleep better.

ZMA (‘Zinc monomethionine and aspartate and Magnesium Aspartate) is a supplement used by bodybuilders and athletes. It was developed by Victor Conte (founder of BALCO Laboratories in Burlingame, California) and is a combination of zinc, magnesium and vitamin B6. Read more on wikipedia here.

ZMA is designed to help you sleep better, improve testosterone, improve IGF 1 and more.

Generally we are defecient in Zinc & Magnesium anyways, and on top of this if yo are training regularly these key minerals are far lower than they should be (with hard training and sweating you deplete these minerals).  So having the right amount of Zinc & Magnesium makes your body perform better.

Important Point => Since ZMA contains minerals you might not be getting enough of anyway, and you definitely need, it seems Screen Shot 2013-08-27 at 1.07.10 PMto be a winning supplement. An important thing to note is that the zinc and magnesium must be in the aspartate form, not the chelate, sulfate, or citrate form commonly found in multivitamins.

There is another form of ZMA which I love from Poliquin Supplements that is a topical cream that is a transdermal.

I use a combination of topical & oral magnesium.

2. Wind Down (Poliquin Supplements)

I am a pretty driven person.

I don’t relax well and when I try to relax I feel guilty and end up working, reading or writing.  That is how I relax.  Most times I don’t have “Off” switch so for me to relax, take it easy, and chill out I have a lot of difficulty with.

That might sound crazy to you but that’s me.

Similar to ZMA but in my opinion better is Poliquin Supplements Uber Mag + Trytophan.

As stated above Magnesoum is critical for sleep, resting, building muscle, and increasing/maximizing testosterone.

With the addition of Tryptophan this makes this supplement that much better.
