I found out last week that my MMA fight for King Of The Cage was cancelled. On top of that i couldnt get my CT scan in time which was a real downer so my training went to crap.
After the fight being cancelled I went to Grose Morne with my girlfriend for 5 days of hiking, playing with the dogs and just getting away from things. It was a nice break, but i feel the need to set a goal again. I know there is a fight card in Moncton in Oct so i will be setting my eyes on that starting Monday.
The last few years I havent dont much direct leg training. With a nagging back injury and my years of heavy lifting and bbing i figured they didnt need the work.
A few weeks ago i had a grappling competition and just noticed i didnt feel “strong” like i should. i have been doing weights but mostly upper body work. big mistake.
So yesterday i started back in at some leg training. Only single leg stuff. IE
Single Leg Squats. sitting on bench extending 1 foot in front of the other. using 30lb dumbells
-lunges with 30 reps (15 per leg)
-Single Leg Stiff Leg Deadlifts
-Standing calf raises
Well today I can barely walk lol. Its great
Hit those legs!! Ya cant get strong without em!!
