Overhead pressing is one of the best exercises for numerous reasons.
Along with the bench press, the over head press It is one of the best exercises for upper body strength. In my opinion the over head press is the true test of upper body pressing strength.
As well anytime you put weight over your head it can help you with fat loss. Do a set of over head presses and check your heart rate, the result will surprise you.
However when it comes to pressing using a standard bar isn’t always a great option. You should always vary your grip and change it for long term health of the joints.
By using a Trap Bar you can use a neutral grip which is much friendlier on the wrists and shoulders for most people compared to a standard olympic bar.
Be sure to not use the raised handle as it’s too difficult to balance.
